iOS 7 and iPhone 6 model appears in iOS developer’s logs

iOS 7 testingiOS 7 will be released for public after getting announced at WWDC 2013 and completing the beta run Apple usually does with its registered app developers. While the new software version for iPhones and iPads is far from release app developers have already started to receiving usage data from devices running iOS 7.

One developer told TNW that he saw a new testing hardware in his logs that showed a device with iPhone 6,1 identifier running iOS 7. Not only this developer who is not named in the report has detected iOS 7 but he has also seen the next version of iPhone in his logs. The current iPhone 5 model carries iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2 identifiers for models of different network types while the developer detected iPhone 6,1 identifier.

Just as expected the app requests the developer is reporting from new version of iOS and a newer iPhone originate from Apple’s Cupertino campus. This was identified from the IP address of the device (which makes it unlikely to be a haox), TNW reports.

Apple’s software development team usually downloads and tests popular iOS apps on new and unreleased versions of iOS. This is not the first time we have heard such reports. The reports of unannounced iOS versions appearing in developer logs have surfaced in the past as well.

While the logs have revealed that Apple is already testing the new iPhone (possibly iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S) and iOS 7 the logs haven’t revealed the specs of the iPhone or the new features which will be introduced in iOS 7.0.

We expect that iOS 7 will be released in September along with the new iPhone based on the trends Apple has followed in the past.
